Toronto joins 27 existing Google Cloud regions connected via our high-performance network. In combination with Montreal region, customers now benefit from improved business continuity planning with distributed, secure infrastructure needed to meet IT and business requirements for disaster recovery, while maintaining data sovereignty. For over a decade, Google has been investing in Canada to become a go-to cloud partner for organizations across the country.
The Toronto region will launch with three zones, which Google Cloud said would protect against service disruptions by distributing companies’ apps and storage.
The company also rolled out a preview of its “assured workloads” capability that it said will allow companies to secure sensitive workloads and configure them to comply with regulatory or policy requirements.
